Kym Veale's Radio Years
"Say it with music..."
A radio programme inspired by the 30s & 40s that's making a difference today!

Kym Veale’s Radio Years was a programme I set up approximately eight years ago inspired by famous 1930’s band leaders and radio presenters Henry Hall and Jack Payne.

This has taken me all over Sussex regularly visiting organisations such as The Royal Air force Association, Shaw healthcare, St Dunstan’s, Fred Olsen Cruise ships and  in house concerts.

Being a lyricist, I have combined this gift with the skill of communication and the precious blessing of songs from the 30's, 40's and 50's. After all music is the background score to our lives, proven to survive within our memory banks whilst being a language that we all understand. Although designed to exercise and encourage the memory Radio Years has the flexibility to reach and engage any audience with a passion to relive the romance, sincerity and quality of talent these special decades brought us!

Memories are encouraged by the refreshing recital of six verses that I have written, ‘Say it with music’ (Jack Payne's radio programme), each containing a hidden famous musician from this special time. Once my group has remembered the musician, I play the popular piece of music and present pictures of the star to help exercise the mind and recall memories. My groups respond with absolute joy and unity as Radio Years recalls the days of dancing and singing in the living rooms of our homes, dance halls, or the cities and towns hot spots where bands performed for their audiences. To set the scene an authentic 1930’s wireless expresses it’s charm as a centre piece symbolic of family and the wonderful times this sincere expression of music so evidently claimed within the hearts of the generations before.

It would be a pleasure to offer you this unique, up-lifting programme with maximum audience participation as one of the central priorities and share the treasures it reveals.........

The Radio Years programme is also available for special events such as; Anniversaries, Birthdays and specialist functions. Why not book to celebrate the sincere expression of Henry Hall's guest night, the music and the wonderful times so affectionately remembered from yesteryear!
